Seaport Manatee Tour & Educational Session

Join us for a tour of SeaPort Manatee, where you'll discover the vital role it plays in our community. Tour the busy terminals, witness maritime operations, and learn about the port's economic impact.
Enjoy a delicious lunch and network with industry professionals. Following lunch will be informative presentations on FIRPTA and 1031 exchanges, providing valuable insights into real estate and investment.
Jill Bowen, Esq. from Berlin Patten Ebling, PLLC will be presenting on FIRPTA and 1031 exchanges. We will discuss what FIRPTA is, how best to serve your client during a FIRPTA transaction, and which exceptions may apply to your transaction. We will also cover 1031 transactions, how a 1031transaction works, and what important deadlines you need to keep in mind throughout the process. Additionally, we'll discuss the recently passed law regarding foreign individuals purchasing property in Florida.

About the Port: SeaPort Manatee is conveniently located near the entrance to Tampa Bay in west-central Florida, along the Gulf of Mexico. It is regarded as the closest U.S. seaport to the Panama Canal, as well as burgeoning Mexican manufacturing centers, with 10 40-foot-draft berths serving container, bulk, breakbulk, heavylift, project and general cargo customers.
About the Speaker: Jill Bowen. Esq. practices in the areas of residential real property and commercial transactions. Jill grew up in Englewood, Florida, and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in 2015 and her Juris Doctor, with honors, from Florida State University College of Law in 2019. After law school, Jill worked as a litigation attorney before joining Berlin Patten Ebling. Jill is currently involved in the Sarasota County Bar Association, serving on the Board for the Council for Diversity and Inclusion and the Young Lawyers Division.
