Originally from Minnesota, after owning an auto repair franchise, 6 years of business brokerage with Calhoun Companies (the largest business brokerage firm in the upper Midwest), 6 years of owning/managing 2 manufactured home parks, and volunteering on the board of directors for her neighborhood association of 300 single family homes, Darlene fled the cold weather & moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where she taught kiteboarding for 2 years. Deciding that the Outer Banks was still too cold, she fell in love with & moved to Tierra Verde, where she enjoys kiteboarding, standup paddleboarding, boating, rollerblading, biking, walking and yoga in nearby Ft. DeSoto. Having moved many times, Darlene has extensive and varied personal experience in buying and selling real estate in 3 states, including 4 parcels of land, 7 personal residences, 2 of which she built, including 2 lake homes, a dome home, a log home & 2 townhomes. Darlene can finally be heard saying “I can see myself living here for the rest of my life”, which is ironic, because she always said Florida was “too hot”. But the sea breeze not only keeps the mosquitoes away, it also makes the summer months cooler. Tierra Verde is an island paradise of tropical beauty, surrounded by water, endless water sport opportunities, beautiful beaches, yet only 30 minutes from the Tampa airport & 15 minutes from the culture of downtown St. Petersburg.
